Establishment
After the establishment of the Central Vigilance Commission by the Government of India, the Government of Uttar Pradesh established the State Vigilance Commission in 1964 to monitor anti-corruption efforts and ensure efficient and transparent administration in the state

Objective
The State Vigilance Commission was constituted with the primary objective of preventing corruption and ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in public administration. The Commission works to promote good governance and ethical conduct among public servants across Uttar Pradesh.
Role and Functions
The Commission plays a crucial advisory role in matters related to vigilance administration. It advises the State Government on:
- Planning, execution, review, and reform of anti-corruption policies
- Systemic improvements to prevent corruption
- Review of procedures and practices prone to corruption
- Upon receipt of the complaint, it is sent for investigation as per the rules.
