Right to Information Act 2005

The Right to Information Act 2005 is a law enacted by the Parliament of India that provides citizens the right to access information under the control of public authorities. This Act came into effect on 12th October 2005.

Objective: To promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government and to curb corruption.

First Appeal

If you do not receive a response within 30 days or receive an unsatisfactory response, you can file an appeal before the First Appellate Authority within 30 days.

Second Appeal

If dissatisfied with the first appeal decision, a second appeal can be filed before the State Information Commission within 90 days.
